Workbench is an assistant that a business connects to its own email, calendar, files and Facebook Page. It sorts incoming messages, drafts replies for the business owner to approve, and keeps a record of the business's customers and suppliers. Each business has its own separate installation and database.

What data Workbench uses

  • From Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Drive: the messages, events and files of the connected account, to sort them and draft replies.
  • From a connected Facebook Page: posts, comments and messages on that Page and on the Page's own posts in a group it manages, including the name and ID of the person who wrote them.
  • Information the business enters itself, such as its profile, staff and notes about customers.
  • For members of a store that Workbench runs for a business: the name and phone number they sign in with, and the items they claim.

How it is used

  • Only to do the work for the business that connected the account: sort messages, decide who should handle them, draft replies, and remember past conversations with each customer.
  • Nothing is sent or posted without the rules the business set. Replies to customers are drafts until the owner approves them, unless the owner turns on automatic replies.
  • Text is sent to AI services (TypeSafe Jev for decisions, OpenAI for drafting) only to do this work. We do not sell data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone else.

Google user data

Workbench's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:

  • We use Google user data only to provide and improve the features the business uses in Workbench.
  • We do not transfer it to others except to provide those features, to comply with the law, or as part of a merger or sale with notice to the business.
  • We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it.
  • We do not use it to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine learning models. The AI services named above process it only to do the business's work.
  • People on our team do not read it, except with the business's permission for a specific message, for security, or to comply with the law.

Where it is kept

In the business's own database. Access tokens are stored encrypted. Data is kept while the account is connected, and deleted on request (see our data deletion page).

Your choices

  • A business can disconnect Gmail, Google or Facebook at any time in Settings; stored tokens are deleted.
  • A person who wrote to a business can ask that business, or us, to delete what Workbench stored about them.

This website

This site does not use cookies or tracking scripts. If you email us or book a call, we use your details only to reply to you.
